IRIS / Camera-integrated lightbar

Greater awareness. Built into the lightbar.

IRIS combines four cameras with a Whelen Lightbar to provide 360-degree surveillance around the vehicle. Built around technology agencies already trust, it supports situational awareness and gives officers and the people supporting them more context around an incident.

IRIS is available as a complete lightbar package with associated Whelen lighting and control hardware. Contact us to discuss your fleet and arrange a demonstration.

How IRIS works

Four cameras. 360-degree surveillance.

The lightbar already has an essential place on a public-safety vehicle. IRIS brings four cameras into the same assembly, so the officer and the people supporting them can see more of what is happening around the vehicle.

Around the vehicle

Four cameras in the lightbar give views around the whole vehicle and, with a supported camera platform, can pick out plates, people and vehicles on every side. Select a part of the system to see its role.

    Before recording

An incident can begin outside an officer's immediate focus. With configured pre-event buffering, the lead-up is kept when event recording begins, giving the officer and reviewers a fuller account of what happened. The buffer length and supported views depend on the selected camera platform.

Animated timeline. A rolling pre-event buffer moves ahead of recording. When recording is triggered, the buffered lead-up is kept with the event recording, and both are retained for review.

    Live support

When an officer requests support, an authorized supervisor can open the available views through the supported platform and configured connectivity, then coordinate the response with visual context from around the vehicle.

Illustrative use case. Where a supported alert function is enabled, it can draw attention to defined activity. Alerts, recording triggers and live access are separate platform functions.

    Complete package

IRIS is supplied as a complete integrated lightbar with four cameras and the associated Whelen lighting and control hardware. Watch how the package comes together, or select a component to see its purpose.

In use / Mobile viewing point

A useful view where the vehicle is needed.

A suitably positioned and equipped vehicle can provide views of a temporary scene, such as a community event or road closure. With the required power, connectivity and access, authorized personnel can use the available camera feeds to understand activity around that location.

As the need changes, the vehicle can be repositioned to provide a different view.

    Questions

    About IRIS.

    Is IRIS available?

Yes. IRIS is available. Contact Monerus to discuss a configuration for your fleet and arrange a demonstration.

    Which cameras can IRIS use?

Yes. Monerus can integrate cameras from a range of manufacturers. Contact us with the camera system you use so we can discuss the appropriate integration and connected functions.

What is included in the package?

A complete camera-integrated lightbar and associated Whelen lighting and control hardware for the selected setup. We will discuss the vehicle requirements, supporting camera equipment and software services when defining your configuration.

Does 360-degree surveillance mean 360-degree ALPR?

No. Video surveillance and licence plate recognition are separate capabilities. ALPR depends on the cameras selected and their positions. We can explain the relevant views and functions during a demonstration.

Does the lightbar contain every part of the system?

The cameras and warning lighting share the lightbar assembly. Supporting control, camera-system, power or connectivity equipment may be located elsewhere in the vehicle, depending on the configuration.

    Does IRIS include AI alerts?

AI and alert functions depend on the selected camera platform and available services. Tell Monerus which capabilities you want to use so the relevant setup can be discussed.

    Can we see a demonstration?

Yes. Contact us with your agency or organisation and the capability you would like to see. We can discuss your needs and arrange a demonstration.
